Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who we pass it to, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Last updated date. This policy covers nomadsetup.co and the founder dashboard. The controller of your personal data is legal entity name, registered address. Reach us at privacy@nomadsetup.co.
What we collect
We collect what a US state, the IRS and a bank require to form and maintain a company for you, and nothing we do not need:
- Identity data: your name, date of birth, nationality, residential address and a passport or national ID scan. Banks and FinCEN require this.
- Company data: your chosen company name, state, ownership split, business activity and expected revenue.
- Contact data: email address, phone number and the country you are writing from.
- Payment data: we do not see or store your card number. Payments are handled by our payment processor, which stores it on our behalf.
- Usage data: pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
Why we use it
- To perform our contract with you: forming the company, filing with the state and the IRS, preparing your bank application and making your annual filings.
- To meet our own legal obligations: identity verification, beneficial-ownership reporting and record keeping.
- For our legitimate interests: keeping the service secure, preventing fraud, and improving how the product works.
- With your consent: marketing email, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We pass it to these categories of recipient, only as far as each one needs it:
- Government bodies: the Secretary of State of your chosen state, the IRS, and FinCEN for beneficial-ownership and foreign-account reporting.
- Our registered agent and mail-handling partners in the state where your company is formed.
- Banking and payment partners you ask us to prepare an application for, such as Mercury, Relay or Wise Business.
- Service providers who run our infrastructure: hosting provider, email provider, payment processor, analytics provider.
- Professional advisers and authorities, where the law requires it.
International transfers
Forming a US company means your data goes to the United States. Where you are in the UK, the EEA or another region with transfer rules, we rely on transfer mechanism, for example Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers outside that region.
How long we keep it
We keep company and filing records for as long as we act for you, and afterwards for the period US record-keeping and anti-money-laundering rules require, which is generally retention period. Marketing contact data is deleted when you unsubscribe. Support email is kept for retention period.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another provider. You can withdraw consent for marketing at any time. Write to privacy@nomadsetup.co and we will respond within one month.
Some data we cannot delete on request. Once a filing has been made with a state or the IRS, that record exists independently of us, and we are required to keep our own copy.
If you think we have handled your data badly, tell us first. You can also complain to your local supervisory authority.
Cookies
The public site uses state which cookies, if any. The dashboard uses a session cookie to keep you logged in, which is strictly necessary and cannot be switched off without breaking sign-in.
Changes
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will email you before it takes effect.
